Anamaria is a Romanian Actress. She received with the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress for The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. French, German English and Romanian are all spoken fluently. Her father, who is a professor of theater in one of the top Romanian drama schools, is also a theatre teacher. In 2000, the Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 the European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. Apart from her stellar performance in her debut film the actress is also famous for her role in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 weeks as well as 2 Days which won her numerous awards, such as an award from the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days) by Cristian Mungiu. It was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). Additionally, she was a part in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. The film was released in 2008. She starred as Yasim in Angwar, the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca has appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Then, she played an important role in 2014's Fury where she was Irma the German maternal aunt to Emma.
