Kat Dennings' birth name was Katherine Victoria Litwack. The birth of her daughter was June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr (Pennsylvania). The mother of her child, Ellen is a poet and speech therapist while the father of her, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacologist as well as a professor at a college. Dennings was raised as one of the youngest child in the family of a Jewish family. Dennings was educated at home and only short time in traditional school. Since she wanted to pursue acting from an early age, the homeschool arrangement made the best sense, as she could complete high school by the age of fourteen. At the age of nine, she already appeared in commercials. When she graduated from high school, she relocated with her family into Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Kat Dennings was her name when she began to audition. Kat Dennings made her acting debut on the HBO series "Sex and the City" in the year 2000 after moving to LA. Following that, Dennings was a star in the WB's sitcom "Sex and the City".
